The newest version of the Tecla app for iOS now allows you to add HomeKit compatible switches, light & bulbs.
To add a HomeKit compatible device to the Remote page:
- Open the Tecla app for iOS
- Find a Remote page with spaces available
- Press the “Unlock to make changes” button
- Select the remote button with the “+” sign
- Select HomeKit from the integrations section
- Select the home where the device you want to control is
- Select the device you want to control
- Select an action for the device from:
- On - Turns device on
- Off - Turns device off
- Toggle - changes the status from on to off or vice versa
- Check status - The app will show the current status of device
- Click finish or test
- Compatible lights and bulbs will have two additional options:
- Change color
- Change Brightness
Once a remote button has been created you can control your devices by pressing on it. Please note that your iOS device needs to be in the same network as your HomeKit devices in order to control them. If you want to control them remotely, you need to set up a home hub with an AppleTV, HomePod or iPad:
